Nadar, the artist who signed this work, is a famous french caricaturist and photograph. He produced many illustrations for several journals (Le Charivari, La Lanterne Magique...). In 1856, he works for the supplement of the "Journal amusant" : "Le petit journal pour rire". Here, he represents the importance of virtuoso pianists.
